Raw Food for Dogs

wild-tails-nutriment-raw-dog-foodAt Wild Tails – Raw Food Specialists, we are (not suprisingly) huge advocates of raw feeding.  Every day we see customers’ pets that are visibly thriving on a Biologically Appropriate Raw Food Diet (BARF), including our own pets of course!

Providing a complete, nutritious raw diet, which is easily digested, is the best way to promote ideal health and happiness for your pets.

Every week we receive fresh stock of quality frozen raw meals from specially selected UK producers. We have over 90 varieties available. Don’t worry, we can help tailor a varied, balanced diet to the needs of your pet, just reach out for a chat.

Is it safe?    Absolutely!  Over 1 million dogs in the UK are fed raw meals every day and the number is growing rapidly.  Just follow the same food preparation advice as you would when handling any raw meat.  Defrost in the fridge, follow the instructions on the pack, don’t leave food down for long (it’s usually gobbled up in moments anyway) and clean bowls, surfaces and utensils after use.

Here’s what the supermarkets don’t tell you (even some vets aren’t aware but thankfully, a growing number are):  Commercially available pet food products often contain biologically inappropriate ingredients such as grains, sugars, fillers, artificial additives and preservatives, which can all have detrimental effects on your pet’s health. Dogs and cats have not naturally evolved to digest these ingredients. Common side effects of a poor diet can include digestive discomfort, poor oral health, allergies and intolerances, poor skin and coat health, anal gland issues and much more.
